Silk and gold brocade, made in Cyprus in the Middle Ages. The gold thread " consisted of a linen or silk thread around which is twisted a cover of gilded catgut. -
4 Rhodes Lace
Laces made in the islands of the Grecian Sea, includes cut work, Reticella, gold net work, and silk laces. The natives of Crete, Cyprus, and Rhodes do the work in all styles of patterns.
